ARCAM SUMMER 2010
[ 31st July 2010 ]

ARCAM rDAC

Arcam are about to launch their brand new rDAC to some industry excitement. Anybody wishing to improve a digital signal from iPod, PC, MAC, laptop, Sonos system or similar should be interested in this excellent product. Offering great value for money and starting from £300 (and £400 for a wireless version - available later this summer). We have already heard it here in the shop and found that the rDAC significantly improved any digital source we offered it, played through conventional amplifer and speakers. Very sweet and clear. No doubt reviews will soon be available to check out as the product is launched. We expect business to be brisk on this item but currently hold stock.

Uses for the rDac are almost endless. Internet radio, set-top boxes and game stations can be connected via coaxial or optical leads to receive a dramatic increase in sound quality. PCs and Mac computers running music programs such as iTunes® or Windows Media Player can feed the rDac via its USB input where special re-clocking circuitry has been deployed almost eliminating the jitter (timing inaccuracies) and noise usually associated with music in the computer environment.

ARCAM SOLO NEO

The new Solo Neo replaces the existing all in one Solo machine and now offers a better sounding, more powerful amplifier and a network input. The Solo Neo is a music system with superb music performance delivered from its internal CD player, DAB/FM radio tuner and network audio client. It can play stored music in a multitude of formats and access thousands of internet radio stations from around the world. With superb audio quality from highly developed pre and power amplifier stages the Solo Neo offers a high performance, stylish and easy to use package that delivers music in a way that will thrill any listener. Available now to check out in the shop.

SOLO MINI, MUSO & irDOC

When the Solo Mini is combined with the matching Muso loudspeakersand the irDock iPod/iPhone docking system it also represents a wonderful package to enjoy the music from an iPod, CD radio or USB memory device. The Solo Mini, Muso speakers & irDock is currently available at a package price.

FMJ AVR500 AV RECEIVER

The AVR500 is based on Arcam’s all new high definition AV platform that was crafted in Cambridge, UK over three years of intensive research and development. The outstanding reception already given to the first two products using the platform, the AVR600 Receiver and AV888 Pre-Amp Processor, suggests that the AVR500 will also set new world standards for audio quality in its price range.

rCUBE iPOD DOCK SYSTEM

To be introduced later in August the new rCUBE has several exciting features. It is powered by an onboard rechargeable lithium-ion battery which Arcam say is good for eight hours use at moderate volumes or four hours playing loud. Also, it can be run and re-charged from the mains. It can stream music wirelessly from your computer. Observers talk of great sound quality - better than anything else they have heard from this type of product. The rCUBE will be available in black or white and will retail around £499.
