Linn DS-I Evening. Wednesday, 16th December '09

We are planning to hold a musical evening here at the shop on Wednesday, 16th December and would like to invite you and a partner or friend to come along. We will be showing and demonstrating Linn's latest MajikDS-I & Sekrit DS-I Digital Streaming Players and would invite you to bring along one or two favourite CDs which we can copy onto our hard drive and then compare the results from both CD & DS players.

LINN TO DISCONTINUE CD PLAYERS

Linn have created international news recently by announcing that they are to cease production of all CD/DVD players from January 2010. They will, no doubt, be able to service and repair existing units for the foreseeable future. They are the first major British HiFi manufacturer to take such a major decision.

Gilad Tiefenbrun, Linn's MD says: -"After 20 years designing and manufacturing world-class CD players, Linn will stop production of CD players at the end of 2009.
At Linn we have always been wholly committed to making systems that push the boundaries and deliver the highest possible audio performance. When we launched our first digital stream player, the flagship Klimax DS, we did so only once we had proven comprehensively that it outperformed the iconic Sondek CD12, our former reference digital source, in every way".

TWO NEW DS PLAYERS FROM LINN

Firstly the all-in-one Majik DS-I.

The sound quality we are getting from this player in the shop has exceded all our expectations and combined with a hard drive and small inexpensive speakers has really surprised us. It sounds quite delightful and manages to unravel complex recordings and previously dubiously muddy CDs with ease and panache. It has fast become a shop favourite and plays everything from Zeppelin to Bach with great elegance and charm with detail and authority previously only hinted at.

The Majik DS-I combines a Linn DS player, high performance pre-amplifier, Chakra power amplification and latest Dynamik power supply.
The heart of a home entertainment system, the Majik DS-I also has multiple digital and analogue input connections so you can enjoy improved audio from your TV, gaming, movie players and much more...you can even add a turntable. Great…..!

SEKRIT DS-I INTRODUCED

Secondly, the Sekrit DS-I is designed for custom installations where exceptional audio performance is required throughout the home from a completely hidden system. A single compact unit houses a Linn DS player, integrated pre-amplifier and 70 W power amplifier. We plan to show one on our musical evening.

Our MajikDS-I evening starts here at the shop at 7.00 pm and we aim to finish around 10pm. A glass of wine or soft drink will be offered as refreshment during the evening.
