NAIM MUSICAL EVENING WEDNESDAY 12th MARCH

On Wednesday, 12th March, we are planning to hold a musical evening here at the shop. If you are free next Wednesday, we would like to invite you and a friend or partner to come along.

We will be joined by Mark Raggett, Naim's very knowledgable and patient Northern representative who will serve as master of ceremonies.

Naim Audio have now released their eagerly anticipated phono stage the Superline. This top of range moving coil amplification stage is able to make the very most of your precious moving coil cartridge. To demonstrate it to you effectively we will be employing a Linn LP12 turntable, complete with Keel
Subchassis, Ekos SE Tonearm and Akiva cartridge as source
together with the Superline and top flight Naim amplification with some great B&W loudspeakers. We will be comparing the Superline with Linn’s excellent Linto moving coil stage.

The Superline can be powered either by any of the current range of Naim Preamplifiers, a Flatcap 2X, Hicap or ultimately Supercap Power Supplies. Uniquely, the Superline can be configured for any moving coil cartridge.

The Superline comes in the same case as the Hicap2 and has a brass counterbalanced leaf spring suspension system
similar to their flagship CD555 CD Player & 552 Pre-Amplifier.
This aims to eliminate microphony, resulting in a cleaner, more precise sound.

Mark also hopes to bring with him the brand new:- Power Line Mains Lead.
Well, we've all heard it here at the shop and have to admit that we're very impressed and not a little astounded as to how a mains lead can make so much difference!
Better or just different? If better means clearer, more musical and more enjoyable, then better it is. Naim are of the view that the Power Line decoupled lead has more influence on the sound than their highly acclaimed Hi-Line interconnect lead. This must be heard to be believed!

Our evening starts here at 7.30pm and we aim to finish around 10pm. A glass of wine or soft drink will be offered as refreshment during the evening. If you would like to attend then please give us a ring or email us so that we can be sure to hold you and your friend a place.
