Naim Musical Evening - Wednesday, 25th June
[ 17th June 2008 ]
On Wednesday, 25th June, we are planning to hold a Naim Summer Sounds event here at the shop. We would like to invite you and a friend or partner to come along.
This summer Naim would like to introduce you to the HDX hard disc player, Superline phono stage and Power-Line mains cable. From vinyl lovers to download enthusiasts there really will be something for everyone. We will be joined by Mark Raggett, Naim's very knowledgable and patient Northern representative who will serve as master of ceremonies.
Last March we held a succesful musical evening here at the shop when we played a combination of Linn's LP12 Turntable complete with Keel subchassis, Ekos SE Tonearm and Akiva cartridge as source together with Naim's spectacular new Superline Moving Coil Phono Stage. This combination, together with Naim Amplifcation and a pair of B&W loudspeakers produced the most musical sounds from vinyl we have ever made in this shop. We plan to repeat this same trick on 25th and intend to achieve the same result.
The new HDX reads audio data from CDs, stores it on a hard disc, catalogues the artist, album and track titles and, at the touch of a screen, replays it with utterly uncompromised sound quality. The HDX’s ease of use defines elegant simplicity and it even offers the option of operating as a high-end CD player by directly playing a disc loaded in it’s drawer.
The HDX is of course not the first hard disc music player, but it is the first to carry a Naim logo. At the heart of the HDX is a fully integrated CD ripping and data storage system, engineered by Naim from the ground up to optimise audio quality.
When a CD is inserted in the HDX drawer it is mounted on a specially selected audio grade transport mechanism and each of its data sectors read multiple times at varying rotational speeds to ensure that the subsequently stored data is “bit perfect”. In true Naim tradition the sound quality from the HDX can be further enhanced with the addition of XPS or 555PS Power Supplies.
On the evening we will also be demonstrating the remarkable Power-Line mains cable which can improve the sound from any system and has to be heard to be believed!
Our evening starts here at 7.30pm and we aim to finish around 10pm. A glass of wine or soft drink will be offered as refreshment during the evening. If you would like to attend then please give us a ring or email us so that we can be sure to hold you and your friend a place.
With Best Regards,
Hamish, David, Bob & John.
